bizXpress Review: An Online Business Building Toolkit & Plugin for WordPress

bizxpress

bizXpress is an online business building guide and collection of hosted tools aimed at WordPress users. bizXpress has been developed by SiteSell, the company that also offers the proprietary SBI! (Site Built It) all-in-one site-building-hosting-and-marketing system of software tools. bizXpress includes online business building guides and resources, a professional grade keyword research tool and access to a user community forum and support.

bizXpress is a web based toolkit comprising of four main components: 1) Action Guide, 2) Keyword Research Tool, 3) Business Information Knowledge Base, and 4) Community Forum and Support.

The Action Guide

The bizXPress Action Guide shows you, step-by-step, how to build, market, and grow a new online business. It’s divided into 10 action-oriented sections and walks you through the crucial steps of web business-building like keyword brainstorming, niche research and domain name creation. It also extends into best practices for host selection, installation of the WordPress platform and recommended plugins. It comes in written, audio and video versions.

To give you an idea of the scope of the Action Guide the 10 sections are listed below:
1. Master the all important basics
2. Find and develop your best site concept
3. Brainstorm profitable topics
4. Investigate and plan monetization options
5. Refine site concept and register domain name
6. Build a WordPress site that gets the click
7. Build free traffic
8. Develop relationships
9. Know your visitors
10. Monetize

Keyword and Niche Research Tools

bizXPress includes “Brainstorm It!” – a professional grade keyword research and discovery tool. Brainstorm It! utilizes WordTracker data and an array of other technologies to help you find keywords and niches for maximum success and profitability with your website.

Business Resources

The Business Information resource section is a large collection of articles, books, and how-to’s covering all business building topics. It includes tips and techniques, monetization information and other resources.

Community Forum and Support

bizXpress membership also gives you access to a community forum where other builders and experts converge. The success-focused community forum allows you to meet others, share advice, ask questions, give answers, explain strategies, etc.

The bizXPress WordPress Plugin

bizXpress have also created a WordPress plugin for their service. The bizXpress plugin itself only serves as an interface to the information resources and hosted tools provided on the bizXpress website. All the plugin does is add pages of links to your WordPress dashboard menu which take you to the hosted guides and services at bizXpress. Everything can be accessed independently of the plugin, so the plugin itself is actually pretty pointless and has no value. Considering its best practise to minimize the number of plugins you use, and ensure the plugins you do activate provide an important function for your site – using the bizXpress plugin just isn’t a good idea. The real reason of course for the existence of the bizXPress plugin, which is freely available to download on WordPress.org, is to market the paid bizXpress pro product to WordPress users. On the official plugin download page at WordPress.org you can find more reviews of the bizXpress plugin.

Pricing

A free lite version of bizXpress is available which gives you access to a very limited set of features, while the Pro version costs $149 per year and gives you access the bizXpress action guide, exclusive keyword tools, business knowledge base, community forum and support.

Conclusion

bizXpress provides a vast amount of online business information and training resources that will help beginners build a website and start an online business that’s on the right track to generate income. When starting out building an online business, finding the right information, and then information overload and “analysis paralysis” from the wealth of information freely available on the internet can be a major problem. The bizXpress service gives you a nice action guide, collection of resources and tools all in the one place to keep you on track and focused in creating a successful online business.

Apart from the large amount of information resources the key feature and main value in bizXpress is the Brainstorm It! keyword research tool. A keyword tool can be handy to have when you’re starting out looking for niches and keywords to target, but only if you know how to use it properly. However in the post-Penguin, post-Panda and Hummingbird Google world, overdoing keyword research and keyword targeting can be pretty ineffective and even dangerous to the search engine rankings of your site. Themes rather than keywords are what websites need to focus on. Also when you have free keyword tools like you get in Google AdWords you should question if it’s really worth paying for something like Brainstorm It!

From a WordPress plugin perspective the bizXpress plugin provides no value or extra functionality to your WordPress website. As explained above it’s been created purely to gain exposure through the WordPress.org plugin repository and market the paid bizXpress service to WordPress users.

It appears bizXpress was developed as a result of the declining popularity and profitability of their propriety SBI system in order to target WordPress users and profit from the enormous popularity and rapidly growing use of WordPress. bizXpress itself is a repackage of the online business building training for SBI with a bit of added WordPress material. However as a resource targeting WordPress users, the actual WordPress specific material in bizXpress is rather limited and poor. Better and more detailed information about setting up and using WordPress can be found freely elsewhere. So don’t buy bizXpress for the WordPress content. If you’re looking for information and guides to help you build an online business that’s fine but don’t expect to find detailed WordPress information and resources.

Positives
– Useful step by step online business Action Guide for beginners
– Handy keyword research tool
– Vast amount of business information, articles, tips and monetization advice

Negatives
-Limited WordPress specific material
-bizXpress WordPress plugin provides no value

The Final Word

The plugin offers no functionality or value and better WordPress specific training content can be found elsewhere. However if you want a comprehensive online business building guide and keyword research tool then bizXpress might be for you.

  1. I was going to try this plugin then read some of the reviews and I am not going to try it now.

The creator is planting fake users to post 5 star reviews and getting people to try to beat down any negative reviewers. It’s quite obvious they are doing it to try to game the reviews unfairly.

If they are ready to do that with a plugin, then imagine what they are doing on their main forums forums! I looked more into it and it appears that their forums are patrolled by paid mods who masquerade as normal site owners, ensuring any less than positive comments or posts are removed hastily.

I also found out this company (sbi?) is losing customers very fast and is at risk of crashing and burning.

I’m up for trying new stuff but this kind of trickery has no place in a world where making important decisions about who to trust to critical to success.

  2. Same cake. Different party.

SiteSell probably could have done well with this option 3+ years ago when people still believed in its SEO-based business model, however it has become clear since then that the SBI! ebusiness system is not a viable strategy any more.

Unfortunately, although they have now finally allowed customers to use more modern tools (ie. WordPress), they haven’t kept up in the online marketing strategies department.

There are now much better educators in online business who do not leave you dependent on Google search for making a living.

  3. All this slagging off of SBI, by people who’ve NEVER used it!, same cake, different party. Until any of you have used SBI, you can’t slate it.

None of you obviously understand what SBI does – you see the word “plugin” and you think of it in the usual small-minded way people of plugins, ie. enhance my website. Plugins can be so much more than that. So what if SBI is targeting WordPress users, aren’t they allowed? They don’t need your permission.

I was with SBI for 2.5 years but moved my site from them about a year ago, and not because of BizXpress. My site brings in a lot of traffic because of keywords (and still does) and it’s allowed me to capitalise on that, with a strong social media presence and my own products.

And SEO, by the way, is still viable and important to the web. It’s not keywords that matter – it’s the content that does. Keywords just help that content get found. I think a lot of people don’t actually understand what SEO is (certainly no one in the comments here understands.)

No, I’m not an SBI plant. And the reason I moved my site was because I now understand WordPress a lot better (I’m now a WordPress theme designer). I didn’t know much about WordPress or online business before I joined SBI – so SBI was right for me, as a place for beginners.

Sure, there may be “better educators in online business” (and who are they exactly, Derek, if they even exist.) I’m sure all you “advanced” WordPress users don’t need SBI. And that’s fine.

But just because you don’t need SBI, doesn’t give you the right to slag it off.

  4. I was told that bizXpress is a dead plugin. Given birth and killed by SBI! themselves. Can anyone confirm this. Is this just a rumour or a fact? If it is a dead plugin, why should you be reviewing in the first place. I am confused Please help.
