Responsive design is the latest trend in web design and development circles in response to the changing ways people access and use the web. In particular the growing popularity of interfacing with the web on mobile devices. In this so called ‘Post PC world’, people are using the desktop computer less and increasingly using all manner of mobile and multipurpose devices to visit their favourite websites. Everything from iPhones, smartphones, iPads and tablets, mobile phones, video game consoles, TVs, netbooks, Kindles and other e-readers are used to access the web.

To cater for the endless number of new devices and resolutions being used to access the web, responsive WordPress themes are being designed with responsive layout systems that adjusts automatically according to the screen size, resolution and device on which it is being viewed. This means the website should look great whatever the screen size and device the visitor uses, without the need for separate mobile themes, plugins or stylesheets.
Many WordPress theme developers are seeing the importance of responsive design and there are a growing number of responsive WordPress themes becoming available. We profile 15 of the best responsive premium WordPress themes below.

What features should be built into a premium theme?
Leave a comment below with your suggestions. The five most creative / constructive commenter’s will get the theme + my personal support for free.
