The Revolution 3.0 theme has been released. From a style standpoint, the updated version isn’t much different than the original theme, with most of the changes occurring in the backend and the code. However one considerable style difference is the additional colour variations, with the theme now coming in three flavors - the original color scheme, as well as new black and blue variations.
Another welcome change is the backend to the homepage. Originally, all of the content on the homepage needed to be modified within the theme files, however it is now all easily accessible through a Theme Options page.
Changes include:
- Both sidebar areas are widget-ready
- Theme options page inside WP dashboard
- Comments section coded for Gravatars
- Archive & Blog page templates
- Color options: original, black and blue
The Revolution Theme is built mainly to be used as a static website or CMS. It is a user friendly, widget-ready, customizable theme that is an ideal solution for small businesses, portfolio sites, online magazines, online newspapers, and other websites that wish to use WordPress as a content management system.
The upgraded Revolution 3.0 is freely available to anyone who has previously purchased the theme, otherwise you can purchase the theme here.
Price:
Single Use License: $79.95
Multi Use License: $199.95

Is this new Revolution theme as SEO friendly as the Thesis Wordpress Template?
I seriously need a more interactive blog.

I think the Thesis theme is more SEO friendy than the Revolution Themes. Revolution themes seem to be getting left behind these days, and not keeping up with the quality and features of other premium wordpress themes anymore.

I’ve used Brian’s Revolution Themes on most of my sites and had some good success. However, I’ve recently heard that the basic html code is pretty poor from a SEO point of view. Does anyone have any comments on this?

The Revolution themes look OK, which has been the main reason why they have been so successful. However under the skin, the coding of the themes is pretty poor.
