Branford Magazine is the very first WordPress theme release from Michael Oeser. This magazine style theme combines the very best elements of three famous WordPress magazine themes into one single theme. The inspiration from “Revolution” by Brian Gardner, “Mimbo” by Darren Hoyt and “Structure” by Justin Tadlock, are clearly evident in the theme. The result is a clean, feature packed magazine style theme which rivals some of the best premium WordPress themes. However it could also be argued that the theme is too much of a blatant rip off of the themes mentioned above, particularly Mimbo, and lacks originality. What do you think?

when one Baroque composer quoted the other’s work in his own compositions or made variations of it - all would feel good and honored and know that they were just making audible the pre-existent creativity and beauty of the universe (maybe they would have used more religious terms). And many chose to remain anonymous, because they did not want to take credit for what they considered not to be their “own”.
When one theme designer’s ideas bring forth variants and mutations and more and more advanced themes - he will start whining and complaining.
The reason? Ego inflation. And a lack of understanding how opensource (and business models based on opensource) works.
Folks, when you sell a theme, you actually sell your support and consulting. The theme “costs” you exactly the same, no matter if 5 or 6000 people are using it, and no matter how many people “rip it off” and make their own stuff based upon “yours”.
If you give something, give freely and things will start to flow back to you. If not - well, keep hunting “pirates” and “copy cats” and maybe you earn enough to pay for the stomach surgery you will soon need…
Just my 2 cents, being a “product owner” myself.
